Portugal is hosting the PGA TOUR Champions for the first time
Portugal is set to make its mark on the history of international golf by hosting the 2026 Portugal Invitational, a tournament that marks the PGA TOUR Champions’ debut in our country and, at the same time, the first event on this circuit to be held on European soil.
The event will take place between 31 July and 2 August 2026 at the prestigious The Els Club Vilamoura in the Algarve, bringing together some of the sport’s greatest legends for three days of top-class competition.
A historic milestone for golf in Portugal

The venue for the competition
The tournament will be held at The Els Club Vilamoura, formerly known as the Victoria Course. This iconic course hosted the Portugal Masters for several years and has recently undergone extensive refurbishment, becoming part of the prestigious brand of South African champion Ernie Els.
Big names in world golf
The tournament will feature a field of 78 players, who will compete for the title in an event that forms part of the official PGA TOUR Champions calendar.
Some of the greatest figures in recent international golf history are expected to take part, including winners of Majors and PGA Tour events.
