Austin-Healey 3000 MKIII – General Restoration
Car: Porsche 911E
Category: Restoration
Year: 1971
Color: Viper Green
The famous ‘Big Healey’ was introduced back in 1959 and was an immediate sales success, especially in the USA. Thanks to the post-war ‘Joie de Vivre’ the Americans were the biggest consumers of European sports cars.
Compared with its predecessor, the 100-6, the Big Healey had a bigger engine, a 2961cc inline 6, and the air and fuel mixture was taken care by two big SU carburetors.
The chrome wire wheels were standard equipment across the range and behind them hid the same Girling disc brakes as the E-Type. As for the body, two tone paint jobs were available and the enthusiast buyer could spec the car with either 2 or 4 seats, enough for two adults and two children.
